Ferrous Ascorbate

• Higher rise in hemoglobin levels in comparison to colloidal iron (3.59 g/dl vs. 2.43 g/dl)
• Higher proportion of patients (became non-anemic compared to colloidal iron (64.86% vs. 31.03%)

Folic Acid

• Folic acid acts on megaloblastic bone marrow to produce a normo-blastic marrow

Zinc

• Increased oral bioavailability (+43.4%) compared with gluconate
